Super Tuesday

May 2, 2006 is one of, if not, the biggest and most anticipated album release dates in history. Highly revered bands are putting out new stuff after what seems like a lifetime of waiting. These include Pearl Jam and a favorite over at this blog, Tool.

Pearl Jam's new self-titled studio album is their first in at least three years. During this time period, they released a shitload of live albums. The single released on iTunes including two tracks off the album ["World Wide Suicide" and "Unemployable"] were amazing and 30 second previews of the rest of the CD sounded like Pearl Jam of old. Eddie, Stone, and the gang are back with a vengance.

Tool is the other huge name on this Tuesday's schedule. FINALLY!! It has been a half of a decade since they released Lateralus. Maynard James Keenan started a side project during these years called A Perfect Circle, which has released three albums [two originals; one remakes with a twist]. This new album, 10,000 Days, I have been told, is Tool at its best. The little bit I have heard definately supports this claim.

Another great band [lesser known, but have a solid following], Thursday, also releases their new album entitled City By The Light Divided. This CD sounded good, but not as good as the last album War All The Time, which was a truly a remakable, deep album.

T-minus 5 hr 6 min and counting...
