Time Off From Bashing "Music"; Some New Stuff In Rock

I've decided to lay off bashing rap for now. Have no fear, there's plenty more where that came from. It has hit my attention that there have been a few albums released, one of which blows the crap out of some others.

At about 1 AM on July 3, I heard the song "Burn It Down" by Avenged Sevenfold on Headbangers Ball. It was alright, and I decided I would check out the band. Noon time I put on iTunes to preview the stuff, and I was in awe. I bought the album City Of Evil which came out 1 month ago. The first song "Beast And The Harlot" is phenomenal.

I love the album. The drumming is great. The guitars work in harmony for the instrumentals. "Beast And The Harlot" has some insanely tough guitar solos in harmony with one another. Their style is metal instrumentals, singing/harmony vocals, and even a couple of acoustic tracks

In my opinion its like Iron Maiden, with less vocal performance and more double bass. I also downloaded some old songs off Waking The Fallen. I hope I am able to go see them on the Warped Tour when it hits Jersey.

LOL!

No, I have compatibility problems.

When I bought this computer it had a partially built it sound card. Half of the card is actually built into the mother board. There isn't anything phyically wrong with the original sound card, except its a POS!

I can disable it in Windows and shut it off. But I don't like Windows because its to unstable and prone to crash.

I presently have this computer, (the one I use on the Internet), set up as a multi-boot system. I can get my Sound Blaster card to work if I boot into Windows but if I boot into one of the Linux kernals, it refuses to work.

One of these days I'm going to build my own system from scratch!

I do have two Panasonic 120w sound systems that really kick ass but I can't jack them into the computer unless my sound card is working. I also have a very nice Yamaha Sub-woofer set-up for the computer.

I've just got too many irons in the fire to do anything about it.

i also fear the windows and any other microsoft product, but i get computers with it anyway because they are cheaper. i do know people who were in the process of making a computer. from what i heard, it takes too much time and money for me. i've actually figured out a way to not only use my altec lansing speakers and woofer, but also my Fender Deluxe 90 tube amp.

double bass is what can make a drummer great. i am currently self teaching myself the craft. it is harder than most people think.

as for Iron Maiden, i hope that their music never dies. the album "Powerslave" is a great album.

as for my music forte, i am mostly about modern rock, but i like some classic rock, and do take a big liking to 80s metal. the guitar solos made everything great. i also like jazz and blues.

I remember the Powerslave concert tour Maiden did... I was like a freshman in high school then.

mr. beamish

as i said before, Maiden kicks ass. i wish new bands would do more Maiden sounding tracks. my friend and i are collaborating and recording a song which we aptly named 'Iron Maiden Tribute' since we use some of their techiniques. i wonder what would happen if we took all the lead guitarists from the 80s and made a supergroup dedicated to music.

I remember all those mispent hours in class doodling pictures of Eddie the Iron Maiden mascot on my notebooks.

Ah, the good old days, when Anthrax came on skateboards instead of in the mail.

mr. beamish:

do you know how much name recognition they got from the anthrax in the mail? i also remember they were asked to change their name, to which the answer was put on the inside background for their "We've Come For You All".

btw, these two bands are part of my top 5 from the 80s. you have good taste.
