A Great Band

If you have never heard of Dream Theater, get the albums A Change Of Seasons, Awake, and Train Of Thought. The musicianship of this band is impeccable-- John Petrucci on guitar and Mike Portnoy on drums and percussion is a winning combination. The rest of the band only enhances the listening pleasure.

One song I have come to love and admire is the seven part, 23+ minute "A Change Of Seasons". This song I got a few years ago on a mix and thought it was alright. The more my taste broadened for good music, the more open minded I became. Finally I popped the mix into my computer and listened to the song again a week and a half ago. This song is probably the only 23 minute song that can keep the listener on the edge of their seat. The flow of each part is smooth, the instrumentals are mindboggling, the vocals are powerful. Everything works with no odd parts, something which seems very rare nowadays.

I can rant on and on about Dream Theater, but I don't think my praise can do them justice. Experience the skilled and mastered craft of great music NOW!
